La certification CyberTracker Track and Sign est une certification internationale de niveau professionnel utilisée pour promouvoir le suivi et la connaissance de la faune. Cette expérience de terrain de deux jours est à la fois une évaluation et une formation, en mettant l'accent sur le dialogue ouvert et l'apprentissage réel.
Les traces et signes de toutes les espèces rencontrées sur le terrain peuvent être demandées, qu'elles soient grandes ou petites, claires ou obscures, fraîches ou anciennes. Une fois que les participants ont donné leurs réponses à une série de questions, un dialogue s'ensuit entre l'évaluateur et les participants pour donner à toutes les personnes impliquées l'occasion d'intérioriser les marques de terrain, le comportement de la faune et l'histoire naturelle.
Les certifications Tracker mettent l'accent sur le suivi pratique et le développement de compétences de terrain fiables, et ne sont associées à aucune philosophie ou école de suivi particulière.

Exigences de base et ensembles de compétences :
Certificat Track & Sign I: Le candidat doit être capable d'interpréter les traces d'animaux de taille moyenne à grande et doit avoir une bonne connaissance du comportement animal. Pour se qualifier pour le certificat Track & Sign I, le candidat doit obtenir 69 % sur l'interprétation Track & Sign.
Certificat Track & Sign II : Le candidat doit être capable d'interpréter les traces d'animaux petits à grands, d'interpréter des traces moins distinctes et doit avoir une bonne connaissance du comportement animal. Pour se qualifier pour le certificat Track & Sign II, le candidat doit obtenir 80 % à l'évaluation d'interprétation Track & Sign.
Certificats Track & Sign III et Track & Sign IV : Le candidat doit être capable d'interpréter les traces de n'importe quel animal, d'interpréter des traces obscures et doit avoir une très bonne connaissance du comportement animal. Pour se qualifier pour le certificat Track & Sign III, le candidat doit obtenir 90 % à l'évaluation d'interprétation Track & Sign, et pour le niveau IV, 100 %.
ÉVALUATEUR : Nate Harvey evaluates trackers for CyberTracker Conservation in both Trailing and Track & Sign Identification. Additionally, he teaches Trailing in workshops near his home in southern Vermont and around the country.
Vous pourrez arriver seulement à partir du vendredi soir à 18 h ou le samedi matin pour 8 h maximum et vous aurez accès à un lieu pour planter une tente. Des toilettes seront disponibles ainsi qu’un accès à de l’eau potable. Vous devez être autonome pour préparer votre nourriture. Un feu central sera disponible pour la cuisson, mais il vaut mieux prévoir des lunchs froids pour la journée, car nous seront en déplacements constants. Il n’y aura techniquement pas de grandes distances à parcourir à pieds.
Vous aurez besoin :
De vêtements appropriés à la température. Il vaut mieux porter plusieurs couches afin de pouvoir s’adapter à la météo et au niveau d’efforts. Certaines activités pourraient salir vos vêtements.
De votre matériel de camping.
De toute votre nourriture et les éléments nécessaires à sa préparation.
D'un cahier de notes et de crayons. La quantité d’informations donnée dans nos cours est considérable.
D'un appareil photo, une façon visuelle de prendre des notes (aucune vidéo ou enregistrement vocal tolérés).
De nous prévenir de vos problèmes de santé, allergies et autres conditions particulières.
Les cours se donnent beau temps, mauvais temps. Nous veillons au niveau de confort de chacun. Habillez-vous plus chaudement que vous ne le croyez nécessaire!

The CyberTracker Track and Sign Certification is an internationally applied, professional-level certification used to promote wildlife tracking and knowledge. This two-day field experience is both an assessment and a training, with an emphasis on open dialogue and real learning.
The tracks and sign of any and all species encountered in the field may be asked, whether big or small, clear or obscure, fresh or old. After participants give their answers for a set of questions, a dialogue ensues between the evaluator and participants to provide the opportunity for everyone involved to internalize field marks, wildlife behavior, and natural history.
The Tracker Certifications emphasize practical tracking and the development of reliable field skills, and are unassociated with any particular philosophy or tracking school. No prior training is required to participate.
Basic requirements and skill sets:
Track & Sign I: The candidate must be able to interpret the spoor of medium to large animals and must have a fair knowledge of animal behavior. To qualify for the Track & Sign I certificate the candidate must obtain 69% on the Track & Sign Interpretation.
Track & Sign II Certificate: The candidate must be able to interpret the spoor of small to large animals, interpret less distinct spoor, and must have a good knowledge of animal behavior. To qualify for the Track & Sign II certificate the candidate must obtain 80% on the Track & Sign Interpretation evaluation.
Track & Sign III and Track & Sign IV Certificates: The candidate must be able to interpret the spoor of any animal, interpret obscure spoor and must have a very good knowledge of animal behavior. To qualify for the Track & Sign III certificate the candidate must obtain 90% on the Track & Sign Interpretation evaluation, and for Level IV, 100%.

You can arrive Friday evening or Saturday morning and you will have access to a place to pitch a tent. Toilets will be available as well as access to drinking water. You must be independent in preparing your food. A central fire will be available for cooking, but we suggest that you bring cold lunch for the days.
You will need:
Clothing suitable for the temperature. It is better to wear several layers so that you can adapt to the weather and the level of effort. Some activities could soil your clothes.
Your camping equipment.
Of all your food and the elements necessary for its preparation.
A notebook and pencils. The amount of information given in our courses is considerable.
A camera, a visual way to take notes (no video or voice recording tolerated).
To inform us of your health problems, allergies and other particular conditions.
Classes are given rain or shine. We take care of everyone's level of comfort. Dress warmer than you think necessary!
